Taking Care

Share

I was sharing a lesson on sensuality and intimacy with a couple recently and an important element of this came up.

Care.

To care for another.

To care about another.

To touch with care.

To kiss with care.

To pleasure with care.

To care about your pleasure.

To listen with care.

To talk with care.

To care about our relationship.

To care about our intimacy.

To care about myself in the relationship.

To care about myself in life.

And when I care about myself, with the awareness of what care is, I will care about you, about life.

To care is to be watchful, mindful, aware.

To approach you with care, to come close to you with care, to enter your energy field, your space, with care, is to approach you from the heart.

With openness.

To be seen, in every way.

Before the word, before the touch, is the breath of awareness, the breath of care.

To approach your body, your heart, with care.

There’s a pause in care.

A moment of gathering myself into presence.

A moment of stepping into space, of opening space.

The pause is a softening, a connecting.

The pause is the doorway to intimacy, the invitation.

There’s an element of the sacred in care.

Taking care in life.

As the priest or priestess in a ritual touches the objects with care, says the words with care, brings care to the ceremony, is to live in a way with care.

With care, we become more aware of the ritual of, and in life.

To touch you with care, to caress you with care, to kiss you with care, to look at your body with care, brings a richness to our pleasure.

In care we are present to what arises. We feel, sensation, emotion.

We soften from chasing, from contraction, into waves of expansion.

Care.

A quality of sensual awareness.

An element of intimacy.

An expression of vulnerable presence.
