DEPTH REQUIRES DEVOTION, FOR PLEASURE AND LOVE

Share

I read a line in a post a little while ago that affirmed something I know well, and that’s connected to my work.

Depth requires devotion.

Such simple words.

Depth requires devotion.

I work with people on journeys of healing, growth, learning, exploration, expansion.

They’re journeys of the body, the heart, the spirit and the mind.

They’re journeys of depth.

That’s what interests me.

Building a relationship that allows us to go to the deeper places.

That’s where the wonder is, that’s where the mystery is, that’s where the connection is, that’s where the learning, the growing and more is.

We live in a surface world.

We go from experience to experience, from high to hype.

We go from workshop to workshop, healer to healer, whatever that actually means, from technique to technique.

We go from quick-fix to jargon, to fad, to empty ceremonies to buzz-words.

We are, many of us searching, seeking.

And in the world today there is so much available, whether it has efficacy or not, whether it does something beyond a quick-fix, a chemical rush.

There is so much for us to have a taste of, so many pools to dip a toe into…

And in this there are important questions to ask, which many of us never will.

What is it that we’re looking for, distraction, entertainment?

Belonging, coolness, experience?

A ‘body-count’ of workshops, people, substances, techniques?

There are generally 2 streams that bring people to this journey.

A problem, an issue, a blockage, in sex, in relationship.

Or a desire to grow, the awareness that there’s more, something inside of us awakens.

Many of the problems we have can be remedied, healed, changed, with some time, patience and the right practices, whatever they may be. Which may require a combination of practices.

And that’s where the journey really begins.

That’s what often opens the door.

If we’re willing to see that, to stick around for a while.

If we’re willing to go a little deeper than the toe in the water.

In this instant world, in the AI generated hype, where everything ends up pretty much looking the same, sounding the same, to go deeper requires a very active awareness and engagement.

It’s never about ‘someone healing us’, it’s never about the latest trend of crowd-energy.

It’s about a devotion to ourselves.

In this, the portal to the deeper possibilities open.

And it is a devotion to a path.

Enjoy all there is, and when we’ve spent a little time in what’s ‘real’, we’ll become more discerning.

When we’ve eaten enough spiritual, psychological, se@#&l junk-food, we’ll get to what’s nutritious, to what nourishes us, expands us, grows us, connects us.

We’ll step past the love and light, the endless positivity, the manifesting, raising vibration, changing reality, into something else. Into an inner world of limitless fascination and wonder, learning and experience that takes us deeper and deeper.

That takes us into ourselves.

Into our beautiful, terrible, mysterious, magical selves.

It’s all part of the fabric of the world.

I remember reading a quote that I thought for a long time was from Aldous Huxley. It’s a paraphrase of his ideas, Everything will be available, but it will be hidden in a sea of irrelevance’.

At this seemingly endless buffet, we have more choice of what to taste than ever, which is its own paradoxical issue.

What really nourishes us, in so many ways?

To savour something, to savour ourselves, our bodies, hearts, minds, spirits, to relish, to explore, to discover, requires a relationship of awareness, of intimacy, with ourselves.

That’s the invitation, the devotion.

I remember a long time ago a lover saying that she thought devotion was more important than love. I see that so differently now.

I’m interested in going deep, and I invite you…

I have 2 events coming up this week that offer this, delicious possibilities.

Water Flow Massage, Tues 27 Jan, and The Erotic Encounter Retreat – Freedom, Fri 30 Jan.
