Tonight I’m teaching a Lingam Massage Webinar.
As part of the preparation for it I collated a whole lot of pieces that I’ve written on male sexuality. It was beautiful reading them, thinking about what, and who, inspired them, the men I’ve worked with, work with, on healing and growth journeys, workshops and retreats. The men I have conversations with, discussions with.
There is so much that is so beautiful, so touching. There are moments in these pieces of deep emotion, tears, laughter, hugs, embraces, touches, realizations, awakenings, releases…
Sharing.
Fuck these have been amazing journeys!
Thank you to every man I’ve shared with.
There’s something that came to me as I was thinking about male sexuality, something I know and have touched on, it never quite landed before like this.
Find stillness.
Find stillness in sexuality.
For most men sex is about doing.
Especially in the body.
Your body moves, especially your hips.
Moving, thrusting, rocking…
Find stillness.
In constant movement there’s constant sensation.
Constant doing.
In stillness something amazing happens.
There is a pulsation within us, deep within.
Deeper than the pulsation of blood in our veins.
It’s the pulsation of life.
It’s the pulsation of the world.
In stillness we can feel this.
Sense it.
It can flow, it can move through the body, move into every cell, fill us.
In stillness we can surrender to this pulsation.
In stillness we can receive.
In stillness we open, vulnerable.
In stillness is an intimacy that opens us, opens the channel that runs from the head of the Lingam to the heart.
In stillness is quiet, so quiet that we can hear an inner voice, maybe the voice of our soul.
So many journeys begin with the desire for healing, this stillness is where so much healing, so much release happens.
The stillness is the space where the body, the muscles, the fascia, the nervous system, let’s go.
It’s a space of deep relaxation, and this is one of the most important aspects of healing. It’s so simple we tend to overlook it.
So many of our patterns are caused by tension, contraction.
When something, stressful or traumatic happens we contract, tense up, it’s natural defence of the body.
We don’t release this tension, we hold onto it. The next time something similar happens, we contract more, it goes deeper. And we hold on tighter.
Over time this becomes our default setting, this is where so many of our patterns come from.
We’re tough men.
And we hold onto what we know.
In stillness we can soften to let go.
We can soften to become supple, of body, of heart, of mind, of energy.
Movement that arises from the stillness flows in a way that’s in harmony with the way energy moves in the body.
Even sexual movement is different, it comes from a place inside that’s not just thrusting hips, thrusting cock.
It’s connected to the heart, as if your heart is moving through your hips.
It comes from the stillness.
This begins to expand the way we think about pleasure as men, and as the partner giving these experiences, man or woman.
It opens new possibilities, new ways to explore, ourselves and each other.
And it opens us to deep intimacy with ourselves and each other.
