The cornerstone of my healing work is patterns.
The patterns are in the body as well as in the mind.
And we can only change the body patterns in the body.
Thoughts, ideas, perspectives, are in the mind. Words and talking are in the mind. Thinking is in the mind.
The body patterns are deep, conditioned, subconscious.
Feelings are in the body, sensation is in the body, tension is in the body, stress is in the body, contraction is in the body, release is in the body.
Sex, sexuality, sensuality, are in the mind and the body.
And the heart, and energy.
Healing, change, growth, expansion, require all of these.
Doing something different, having a different experience requires all of these.
If you’re not having orgasms, that’s as much in your body as in your mind.
If your experiencing painful sex, that’s as much in your body as in your mind.
If you’re struggling with erection issues, early ejaculation, that’s as much in your body as in your mind.
If you’re not experiencing the intimacy and connection you’d like, that’s as much in your body as in your mind.
If you’re asking, is this all there is, as are so many people I’m working with at the moment, if you’re disconnected from your sexuality, as are many people I’m working with, men and women, if you’re not feeling the desire, the libido, the sexual energy you’d like to, it’s as much in your body as in your mind.
We need to work with them both.
Sex is as much in the body as in the mind.
Here’s how the patterns in the body develop.
We have an experience. If that’s stressful, painful, traumatic. If that has elements of guilt, shame, embarrassment. If there is judgment, from ourselves, from another, from conditions, from belief.
We contract. That’s our natural defence, that’s what we do, that’s what the body does.
The experience ends, the contraction doesn’t. We hold on to it.
And the next time we’re in a similar, just has to be similar, situation, we contract again. And again. And the pattern is set.
In the body, in our muscles, tissues, joints.
And then regardless of what the mind says, the body has its own pattern.
If you’re not having orgasms, as an example, you do some work with your mind, beliefs, you understand it from that perspective, change those, release those, create new thoughts, new possibilities.
Your body is still doing what it knows to do. The patterns are not about fulfillment or happiness, they’re about survival and safety, deep mechanisms within us. As technological as we are, as spiritual as we are, as philosophical as we are, our bodies are our bodies, and they hold the key to so much of how we are.
Our body holds our pain, our hurts, our inhibitions, our limitations, and our patterns.
It also holds the possibilities, the freedom, the pleasure, the sensation, the yummy, the delicious, the melting, the exploding…
We need to work with our bodies.
And from my perspective, my framework, nothing does that as powerfully as touch.
Movement, breath, sound, all vital, all body.
But so many of the patterns will only release and change through the body, in the body, with the body.
If you’re experiencing painful penetration, and so many women do, you look at the thoughts, the beliefs, where it came from etc. You work with them.
The tissues of your yoni hold the contraction, the tension.
Our minds, our yonis, our lingam, our hearts, our brains, all one.
Nothing within us is in isolation, nothing is disconnected, nothing is separate.
We are one.
(As we’re one with life, with each other).
That’s who we are, that’s how we are.
And as our bodies hold the patterns of the past, so they hold a present that can be different, filled with possibility.
