Female sexual awakening is a thing!.
It’s a real thing, and it’s a big thing.
It can be, and I don’t say this lightly, life-changing.
It’s often a big part of the journeys that I share with women, and it’s always such an honour to share this.
As much as it’s a sexual, physical experience, it’s also a spiritual experience.
There’s something that we don’t really talk about, don’t really think about.
Male sexual awakening.
Which is a thing, a real thing.
And it can be just as life-changing.
We don’t really talk about because we have this idea that male sexuality is awake.
It’s not.
It’s more socially acceptable for a man to be sexual, that’s the prevailing belief.
Men are constantly thinking about sex, looking for sex, want sex…
It’s simply patterned, conditioned in a porn/movie oriented society.
Male sexual awakening, when it happens, changes so much within us.
So much that’s all about sex, and all about everything else that has nothing to do with sex.
Some of the biggest things that happen in this, that are significant, and bring about these shifts are this.
The Heart-Lingam connection.
Freedom from the goal, the outcome.
Sex is an experience of energy.
Presence is the power.
The Heart-Lingam connection.
This is one of the biggest things for a man.
It’s the opening of his heart, and the experience that heart and sex, heart and genitals, are one.
They’re not separate, they’re not disconnected.
They’re one.
The heart opening on its own is life-changing.
And for many men, one of the most emotional, sometimes confusing, sometimes terrifying, experiences.
We have very little education for it, we have very little knowledge about it.
I’ve come to see, in the work that I do, is that many more men than we know, experience this.
And because of the intensity, because of how it shakes things up inside, and the fear that goes with it, we shut it down.
We just don’t know how to work with it, how to allow it, how to let it move, flow.
It’s vulnerable, deeply so.
And when the heart opens, the depth of sensation, of emotion is intense, so intense that we don’t know what to do.
Instead of leaning into it, letting it do its thing inside of us, dance with it, be curious about it, we shut it down.
It’s linked to our emotional capacity, our pleasure capacity, our energy capacity.
It’s one of the places where we see how our sexuality is not in a vacuum. It doesn’t happen on its own.
When we’ve done some emotional work, some energy work, when we have a more conscious relationship and awareness with ourselves, we have more of a place for it.
Linked to the heart opening is energy.
The movement of energy.
Which brings the awareness, and we’ll only get this through experience, not the mind, not just the information of it, only through the feeling, is that as much as sex is physical, it’s an energy experience.
And over time, then deeper we allow ourselves to go in this, the more we see the power and possibility of energy.
We see that the physical, our bodies, our genitals, are doorways, portals, to the energy.
What this brings is the way we have sex, the reasons we have sex, when we are as sexual beings changes.
Which changes our relationships to our partners and lovers.
This awakening takes us out of the goal, out of outcome-based sex, out of achievement, out of performance.
It takes us out of having to make someone else climax as being the criterion, the judgment, for a successful experience.
It brings us into presence.
And this opens a freedom, of exploration, of discovery.
It takes us beyond right or wrong, good or bad, into possibility.
It brings us into intention.
It asks us to look at what a fulfilling experience is, and shows us how many ways there are to feel that.
It takes us into pleasure, the limitless world of pleasure.
It takes us from technique into presence.
You can see how all these elements are entwined, none of them are, can be separate.
When the awakening happens, whether it’s slowly, little by little, a piece of the puzzle here another there or an experience that blows you apart, all of these are connected.
There are men reading this, who in our goal-oriented way, are saying How do I make this happen, how do I get it, achieve it, what do I have to do.
Here’s the thing, you can’t.
You can prepare the ground by doing inner work, by learning, by having different experiences.
And as you plant these seeds, cultivate them, water them, nourish them, they’ll grow when they’re ready.
That’s it.
You can’t chase it, you can’t force it.
However, the journey, the work, the practices, creates the space of possibility.
A great deal of this has to do with intention.
Awakening, sexual, spiritual, isn’t a goal.
As enlightenment isn’t a moment in time that says Now I’m enlightened.
It’s an opening, an awakening, that takes us deeper and deeper, through layers of understanding, awareness and experience.
The same with our sexuality.
Awakening is an invitation, and the more present we are, the more of our intention and experience we expand, the greater the energy of the invitation becomes.
When, as men, this happens, it shifts our world.
It’s when we need connection, community, sharing.
The experience of awakening, as an explosion, or a growing awareness opens the door. That’s the beginning.
And that’s when it’s important to share with those who have walked a little further on the path, who have an idea of the terrain.
We’ve been conditioned to think we have to so much on our own, as men.
Conditioned to think we’ll work it out, we should know how to do this.
We’re entering a different dimension, translators, Waze, are vital.
More than that, from sharing, from community, we make it more possible for others, our energy becomes stronger.
And when this happens, the possibilities…
Come and learn, share, experience in this wondrous journey of possibility.
I have 2 events coming up that offer the space for this, Water Flow Massage on Tues 27 Jan, and The Erotic Encounter Retreat, 31 Jan.
