Permission to Love

I sat in my practice recently with a woman who had never had an orgasm.

I sat in my practice recently with a couple in intense pain in their relationship.

I sat in my practice recently with a man who didn’t know how to feel.

And something struck me.

They’re looking for permission.

That’s what we do.

We want permission, we want someone to tell us it’s ok.

It’s OK to have pleasure, it’s OK to have orgasms.

It’s OK to feel, everything, every emotion we can.

It’s OK to love, to be in a relationship.

It’s OK to leave a relationship.

It’s OK to learn and grow and explore.

It’s OK to heal.

It’s OK to share what you want, from life, from love, from relationship.

It’s OK to want to give, and to receive.

It’s OK to be hurt and broken.

It’s OK to celebrate life.

It’s OK to let go with abandon, to laugh, and shout and dance in ecstasy.

It’s OK to cry and sob and wail.

It’s OK to want to touch and be touched.

It’s OK to say I don’t know, and I don’t know how.

It’s OK to say please help me.

And we want someone to give us permission.

It’s inside of you.

It always was, it always will be.

It’s about you.

It always was, it always will be.

Claim it.

Claim yourself.

Your pleasure, your love, your power, your beauty.

Give yourself permission.

Give yourself the gift of your magnificent self.

Then the healing can begin.

Because it’s yours, for you.

You heal yourself for you.

You heal your relationship for you.

And you love for you.
