I’ve been teaching, exploring, learning, developing touch for a long time now.
As well as all the experiences, I’m deeply interested in the philosophy of touch, what happens when we touch, in all the ways that we do.
I’ve seen how touch, the way we touch is an expression of our inner world. It shows how intimate we are, how closed we are, how vulnerable we are.
Touch shows how open we are, how withholding we are.
The way we touch is an expression of the relationship we have with ourselves.
It’s a conversation of the body that says so much more than our words, because it’s a knowing, an inner knowing.
In this subtle conversation we become aware, if we choose to explore this, how much we say with our hands, with our bodies, and how much we listen.
In a way, touch is a conversation of truth, as it doesn’t have explanations, analysis, justification, it just is.
That may come afterwards.
The touch just is.
Learning to speak the language of touch, learning to listen to the language of touch, is a science and an art.
The science on its own is pretty dry and mechanical.
It’s the art, the heart, the energy, that elevates, expands, deepens the experience.
It’s this awareness that opens the door to the mystery of touch, and what it does, to the magic, even to the sacred of touch.
When our touch becomes conscious, because so much of it is not, that’s where so much changes.
I’d like to share one of those elements here.
It’s an aspect of touch that enhances, deepens and expands the giving, the touching.
It’s about receiving.
Receiving your body, your being, with my hands.
In this, in receiving you, touch becomes a conversation.
So much more than me just touching you.
The receiving becomes a listening, with presence.
Receiving you is welcoming you, accepting you, with presence.
It’s feeling you, with my hands.
The awareness of the feel of you.
Of your skin, your bones.
Of what’s inside of your body.
Receiving you in this way is nothing but love.
And when you are received in this way, in this touch, you know it, you’ll feel it inside of you.
Your skin knows it, your heart knows it.
There are touch experiences, and this is one of them, or elements of an experience where there is no giving and receiving in the way we generally see that.
When we separate them, I’m giving, you’re receiving, we separate ourselves.
When they merge, there’s an intimacy, a connection that goes deep, that takes us deep.
In that space, where the giving is the receiving, the receiving is the giving, there’s a oneness.
This is where touch becomes a meditation.
I talk about the world of touch being limitless, and it is.
In the feeling, in the sensation, in the pleasure, in the energy, in all of it, there’s a life-long journey of exploration, experience and discovery.
Come and feel it, come and learn.
I invite you…
