SEXUAL WELLNESS, THE SHIFT TO POWERFUL FREEDOM

Share

There’s a phrase coming up recently, a concept that’s going to be around more and more.

Sexual Wellness.

I was thinking about it, and it got me to thinking that our natural sexual state is wellness.

As we choose wellness in other areas of life, in the health of our bodies, our minds, our hearts and spirits, it’s vital we do the same with our sexuality.

Our natural sexual state, our natural sensual state, our natural erotic state, is the flow of the energy of pleasure, within us, around us, between us.

It’s the natural flow of energy between our bodies, minds and hearts.

It’s the natural expression of this energy in the fullness of life.

Sexual wellness is not limited to the little box that so many of us put our sexuality in. We take it out, in very specific circumstances, we use it, we put it away again.

It’s separate from life, which separates us from life.

Our Eros, our eroticism, our sensuality, is the connection between us and life.

It’s the fullness of our expression, through our senses, in consciousness.

And going deeper, it’s a path of awareness in and of itself.

It’s the presence we bring to what we taste, what we see, what we hear, what we smell, what we feel, what we intuit, what we sense…

Our natural sexual state is curious, exciting, creative.

It’s exploratory, experiential.

It’s open, engaged, fun.

It has a sense of wonder, of mystery.

It asks questions, it feels, it dances within us, dances in life.

Its expression is pleasure in so many ways.

It seeks freedom to grow, to expand.

It’s at times, gentle and soft, and at others, a raging inferno of passion and desire.

It’s elemental, grounded and real.

It’s sacred, divine and ethereal.

Sexual wellness takes us out of patterning and conditioning, out of beliefs.

It takes us out of being controlled, constrained, contractive.

The freedom of this is choice, the choice to express our sexual, sensual, erotic selves in a way that’s aligned with who we are.

It takes us to the realm of could, the realm of possibility, rather than should.

As we make these choices, we become more aware of who we are sexually.

And how this life-force, this creative power, chooses to express itself, chooses to flow through us.

And we discover something we may not have known, mostly because for many of us the expression of our sexuality has been quite narrow.

As our bodies need a wide range of food for nourishment, so does our sexuality.

Because our sexuality has so many faces, so many aspects, so many ways of expression.

The vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, fibre etc that the body needs…

So does our pleasure being, because it’s so vast within us, has so much, desires so much, is so much.

Different days, nights, seasons, stages of life.

We want, we need, to express and experience ourselves differently.

The freedom for this, the awareness for this, comes from a conscious relationship with our sexuality, with our sex being.

An intimate relationship that’s alive in its evolution, in its growth, in its exploration, in its discovery, in its adventure.

It’s a relationship that goes within, deeper and deeper, and out into the world, into our lives.

We express what we discover inside of ourselves, we bring our experiences back to us, in a constant conversation of sensation, feeling, touch, knowing.

One of the things I love about this idea is that it takes us out of the model of healing we have, of needing to be fixed because we’re, in this case, sexually broken.

It brings us closer to our natural state, and the more that happens, the more healing happens, naturally.

We come to see healing differently, there’s a shift from needing to be healed, to moving what took us away from our nature. It’s a return, an awakening, a re-discovery, a re-connection, to what’s always been there.

To who we are.

This really is what the workshops, the events, experiences, journeys are about.

I invite you…
