I had started writing a piece on Breast Massage that I was going to share today.
I’m doing a webinar on it on Thursday 24th, the info is at the end of this piece.
I had also started writing a piece on a sexual technique called The Stroke of Fire, which I will share soon.
What changed all of this was this.
I enjoy food shows, and I’ve been watching an old season of Masterchef.
In an episode I was watching last night a man got eliminated from the competition. His best friend was left still in the house, it was deeply emotional for both of them. One of the judges asked how he was feeling. He could hardly talk, there were tears, he went up to the other guy, and they hugged. For a moment. Then it became some back-slapping, the control crept back. The emotion in both of them was huge. And they wouldn’t let it out.
I am in an incredible position, because of the work I do. I get to spend emotional time with men, vulnerable time with men.
And one of the most beautiful, one of the most powerful, one of the most touching elements in this space is the tears.
Men’s tears are amazing.
And so controlled, so repressed, so suppressed, so hidden.
We’re strangers to our tears, to the feelings they bring up within us.
We don’t have an intimacy with our years, both of sadness and joy.
Tears are an amazing expression of emotion.
And here’s something important.
If we don’t allow ourselves to feel one, we can’t feel another. They’re the same. It’s not a semi-permeable membrane that lets some stuff in and keeps some stuff out. We let it all in or we don’t.
And when we’re not open, when we don’t have the space to receive, we don’t make the space for our partner’s to give. That flow, that dance of energy between us doesn’t happen.
Our tears are a language, they say so much more than our words do.
They’re an expression of the heart that require no words, no explanations.
Our tears are an expression of presence, here, now, feeling, in my body, not in my head. Sharing my openness, my vulnerability with you.
Our tears are linked to our passion.
To feel deep passion, to feel the fire, we have to allow ourselves to feel.
Our tears, sharing our tears, is one of the most human expressions we have.
They’re an expression of the heart.
I remember a moment, it has stayed with me for so long, my lover licking my tears, me drinking hers. Taking each other into each other in a way that stopped time for a moment. An intimacy that cannot be described.
Our tears reveal us.
They are the physical expression of deep emotion, joy and hurt.
They’re a release, an energy that allows something to move through us.
So many of our emotional patterns, and the blockages they show, are because of unexpressed, undigested emotions. Energy that sits inside of us, contracted, tight, locked in place.
It can’t move, we can’t move from that pattern.
Our tears become the fluid that allows what’s stuck within us to move, to flow, to open. They’re the lubricant that helps turn the key, oil the hinges, open the door to what we hold onto so tightly, what we dare not let out.
Our tears help release anger, hurt, loneliness, rejection, frustration, confusion.
They’re not signs of weakness, they’re signs of deep human authenticity.
I just want to cry, I just want to let this move through me. How powerful is that.
Vital fluid of life.
As I sit here writing this I’m becoming so aware of the power of tears.
And not only the tears of hurt, the tears of celebration, of joy.
The years of spiritual awareness.
The tears of realization, of awareness, of seeing what we’ve done.
All of these are allowing ourselves an expression of an energy, a feeling, in one of the most open ways we can.
From our eyes, I am seen, I see.
From our hearts.
Our tears of beauty.
