THE DESIRE TO BE SEEN

Share

One of our greatest desires is to be seen.

Seen in a way that we feel deep inside.

Seen in a way that has a knowing beyond words.

Seen in a way that we feel beyond words.

Seen with the eyes of the heart.

Seen with the eyes of love.

There’s an acceptance in this seeing, of all of who we are.

Seen in a way that offers us the space to reveal ourselves.

Seen in a way that we’re able to remove our masks.

Seen with no artifice, no illusion.

Seen from heart to heart.

Seen in a way unfiltered by words.

Felt in the body.

There’s a presence in this that is not dependent or conditional.

It’s simply, and deeply, being seen in the fullness of who we are.

The practice of being seen in this way is in the body.

The practice of being seen in this way is in touch.

The practice of being seen in this way is in presence.

The practice is being seen in this way is in love.

The practice of being seen in this way is gentle.

The practice of being seen in this way is slow.

The practice of being seen in this way is sacred.

The practice of being seen in this way is a meditation of presence.

The practice of being seen in this way is through the awareness of the universe of you, the detail of you.

The practice of being seen in this way is to touch every single part of you.

Every single part of your body.

Slowly.

With a breath.

Slowly.

With presence.

The practice of being seen in this way is to bring my attention, to hold my attention, on every single part of your body.

The practice of being seen in this way is a conversation.

A silent conversation that the body knows, that the body hears.

A conversation that the body feels in a way that requires no words.

A conversation that has no words.

Yet is so clear, in its feeling.

The practice of being seen in this way is to touch every single part of you.

Every single part of your body.

Slowly.

With a breath.

Slowly.

With awareness.

As if the touch were an offering, a meditation, even a prayer.

The practice of being seen in this way takes time.

It’s not a short conversation of the words ‘I see you.’

It’s the feeling of knowing.

And that feeling, when we feel it, we know it.

And we are seen.
