‘Twas touch that began this journey.
In the 1st year of a psychology course, studies on the impact of us not getting enough touch, adults and babies.
The physical, psychological, heart, energy, social impacts, how this affects pretty much every area of health.
That led to a 1st massage course, to explore touch more.
More than 25 years later, a journey of learning, teaching, developing, exploring the limitless world of touch, in a way we’re back at the starting point.
A journey of exploring the intricacies, the subtleties, the power, the many ways of touching.
A world where many of us are deprived of touch, and the impact this has on pretty much every aspect of our beings.
This world, of screens and hook-up culture, of porn and porn-style sex, of disposable relationships, of decreasing intimacy, of more online and less human contact.
We touch less, we are touched less.
The conversation of skin against skin, in so many ways, is so much less.
A conversation that’s vital to our nervous systems.
Touch, Heart Touch, Conscious Touch, is intimacy.
It’s connection of one of the deepest kinds.
Touch is a language beyond words.
It’s the language of the body that reaches deep inside of us, that through our skin speaks to parts of us that words don’t reach.
It’s a language that allows us to feel seen, in ways words cannot.
Being seen in this way, through Touch, something inside of us breathes, awakens, releases, opens, comes to life, sighs in knowing.
Being seen in this way is a feeling.
Something we’re moving away from in a way that’s destroying parts of us that need to breathe, to sing, to dance, to live, to cry, to laugh, to yell at the night.
Our world, a world of incredible high, higher than ever, use of, dependence on, stress and anxiety medications, stress-related illnesses, depression and all it’s off-shoots.
Our world, a world of increased isolation, loneliness, disconnect.
And us, in this world, that within us which knows so much, it’s in our cells, in every cell of our bodies, cries to be held, to be touched.
It’s not a cure-all for everything, it simply does so much.
Our world, a world of increasingly emphasizing mind over body, of living from the neck up, takes us out of who we are, takes us out of how we’re designed, takes us out of how we know to be healthier, takes us out of our hearts.
Takes us out of a path that knows so much, that senses, that intuits, that feels.
That knows.
And when we return to ourselves, for that’s what touch does, the wisdom of the body becomes a guide, a teacher, a companion, a path.
Touch brings us into our body, into the base of who we are, in a way that gives us a safety of knowing ourselves, and the resources to live.
Then we drop deeper, and we see how touch is a healer.
We see how the language of touch becomes a language of intimacy, a language of worship.
We see how touch becomes a meditation, a prayer.
We see how touch becomes a path to expanded states of awareness.
We see how touch becomes a path to ecstatic pleasure.
We see more…
It’s within us.
It’s coming back to ourselves.
It’s awakening ourselves to who we are, in a way that’s simple, maybe too simple for much of our world.
It’s part of my world, a big part, and every day I see the gifts it brings.
It’s a big part of the private journeys and experiences we share, it’s a big part of the workshops.
On Tues we’re sharing a delicious Touch experience enhanced by the welcoming warmth of the sensuality of the pool, Water Flow Massage.
I invite you…
