THE IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION OF SENSUAL, NON-SE***L TOUCH

Share

One of the most important things for us to learn, especially in relationship, is non-sexual sensual touch.

So that might be a little confusing for many of us as we immediately connect sensual with sexual. When we hear, many of us, men especially, sensual massage, our minds go somewhere very particular.

It’s actually become a euphemism for massage that generally includes genital touch, generally includes orgasm.

Sensual Massage is actually something quite different.

Let’s start here, with why it’s an important thing in relationship.

Touch is one of the deepest, most important ways we communicate. Touch is a conversation, a conversation of the body, a conversation beyond words.

It communicates so much that is never said, but known. It expresses our intention, conscious, subconscious, and the body knows that.

Over time, desire and sex change, waxes and wanes.

Many of us, especially in long-term relationships, touch for sex. Over time we do that more and more, less affection, less caress.

Less touch, over time, less intimacy.

Because touch is a vital expression of intimacy. When we’re not sexual, touch is what keeps us connected. Touch keeps so many channels of intimacy and communication open.

Touch is an expression of love.

Now let’s go to sensual touch.

Sensuality has so many different elements.

It’s how we experience ourselves, each other, life, the world.

Through the elements of sensuality.

One of these is presence, one of the most important.

Sensual touch is presence in touch.

Presence in touch, present touch is about just that, being present.

Not going anywhere, not trying to achieve something, not trying to make something happen, no goal.

Presence.

The next element of sensual touch is the feeling, the sensation, the intimacy, the connection, of skin.

The wonder of the texture of the body.

And the conversation that’s happening, the knowing of what’s being said, body to body, under the surface of the mind.

Every time we touch in this way, whether it’s a whole body massage or a few minutes of touch on a hand, we’re weaving a strand of a web between us. And if we do this with presence, with care, with tenderness, with awareness, we weave a web of openness and connection.

Now here’s something interesting.

We’re talking about non-sexual sensual touch, as a deep expression of intimacy. So where do our genitals come into this, or don’t they?

A long time ago on a massage workshop I heard something that’s always stayed with me. You give more attention to what you leave out than include.

There’s a difference between focused genital touch with the point of arousal, and touch that includes every part of the body.

Then we have to talk about pleasure.

When we hear sensual and pleasure, our minds also go to some specific places. That are more beliefs than anything else.

We can experience pleasure in so many ways, and when we start exploring touch without sex, we open ourselves to worlds of feeling, sensation, energy and pleasure.

We begin to see what pleasure is, how wide it is, from subtle to fire, that’s not sexual.

The world of touch is limitless, and has so many possibilities for us to explore and feel.

When we allow it, it offers us space to discover and explore our bodies, all of our bodies, with excitement, with intimacy, with awareness, with love.

There is an opportunity for you to experience this kind of touch, sensual, non-sexual, embodied, in a conscious connected group.
