I have recently been doing some very interesting experiences with rope, touch, movement, sound, visualization and breath, in a way I’ve never done before.
The focus, the intention of these has been healing, releasing and opening. They’ve gone deep and been very effective.
A big part of this journey for me is, has always been, creativity.
In a way I’ve come to see it as part of the ‘job-description’.
I’ve been doing this work, teaching, facilitating, guiding, healing for over 30 yrs, and being creative, is amongst other things, a vital element for me. Exploring new ways of doing things, new processes, practices and techniques. A lot of which means learning. Exploring. Expanding.
Internally and externally.
As a practitioner, facilitator, I think it’s vital, a necessity, that we keep learning, that we keep growing, that we keep expanding.
That we keep doing our work. Looking at ourselves, going within.
Not simply learning from a script, repeating, following the steps.
It’s an essence of this work, in whatever way we do it, of the spirit of energy, awareness, consciousness.
These are alive, vital, living paths, which means that as we walk them, we bring that same energy to what, and how we do.
That means knowing ourselves, healing ourselves, learning ourselves, exploring ourselves.
Not just learning a technique then simply repeating it.
Owning it, owning ourselves in it.
And not just changing something, being creative because we think we should.
I’ve recently been to, and seen, too many events where people are jumping on the bandwagon of trends and fads for the sake of, and without knowing enough.
As much as creativity is an energy of freedom, giving it a context is vital.
One of the practices I offer and teach is Taoist Sexual Energy Massage. It’s one of very few technique practices I share.
At some stage I figured I’d come up with my own version of this. So I’d spend time in the week working on it, then do it with my partner on the weekend. I never came close.
Eventually I looked at what it is, what it does, what it’s based on, the principles behind it. And realised that all I was trying to do was reinvent the wheel. It was beautifully humbling.
So I looked at how could we better prepare for the experience, come to somewhere deeper in connection to enhance the massage.
Then we look at something like Yoni Massage.
Over the years I’ve developed a range of these experiences. Some are very much about healing and release, some are more about energy, some more about pleasure. Recently something new emerged with very specific movements based on new understanding of anatomy and fascia.
Spiritual growth, personal enquiry, inner work, learning, allows us to go from a space of ust doing something, to it becoming an expression of who we are.
I talk about how this journey, a lot of my work is in Conscious Sexuality, needs to be in the context of life, of who we are. Not in a vacuum of something we switch on, do, switch off. It comes from our hearts, from our bodies, from our being, as well as our minds.
Expanding is in accordance with life, growing, changing, adapting, creating.
When it happens within us, it can be expressed and shared in our worlds.
Questioning, who we are, what we’re doing, who we are in the spaces we’re in.
This has allowed me to recommit to myself, to this path, again and again, to keep it alive, breathing, dancing.
This journey, in a world of mediocrity, sameness, conformity, is vital, exciting refreshing, energizing.
Someone I’ve worked with for a year said that we’ve never done the same thing twice.
Some things work amazingly, some have stood the test of time and have depth, richness, wisdom and guidance for us.
Bringing these together open so many beautiful, wonder-full possibilities for us.
Come and share, explore, experience, I invite you…
