The Longing of Touch

Share

As much as your skin longs for my hand, my hand longs for your skin.

As much as your skin feels my hand, my hand feels your skin.

There’s a conversation here, of sensation, of feeling.

A conversation of touch, that’s a conversation of the Heart.

It may be a Divine conversation, a prayer whispered through the touch, a meditation of listening, in the touch.

In this touch, of love, of presence, there is a knowing.

My hand knows what’s within your body.

It knows the mystery that your skin holds, your blood, your nerves, your muscles, your bones.

It knows the unimaginable working of your body.

And it knows your feelings, your hurt, your pleasure.

We talk, you and I, in touch.

We talk in the language of the body, a language beyond words.

We talk in sensation, in caress, in stroke, in holding.

We talk through this skin that enfold us, holds us, and opens us.

When we sit, when we lie, skin to skin, and we breathe, we become still, we become quiet.

When we hold, when we are held.

When my hand moves on your skin, on the curves, the valleys, the plains, the folds.

When our bodies dance in touch.

In all of these moments, a conversation that’s an inner world, connecting with another, connecting in oneness.

And the touch becomes sacred.

Touching in this way, there is no giver, there is no receiver, there is simply the sharing of touch.

Your body, my hand, becomes the language of meditation

The point of contact becomes the point of consciousness.

The sensation of skin becomes an ever-expanding awareness.

The movement becomes a dance of sacred caress.

And we melt into the massage dimension.

The conversation of skin is about listening without words, hearing with the body, feeling with the heart.

Through the touch, in the touch, healing happens.

There is comfort, there is intimacy.

We are felt, seen, acknowledged.

There is a moment of belonging.

There is a moment when the walls within us, the scaring, the places of tension, of tightness, of contraction, open, release, unwind.

There is a moment for us to feel, all that’s there, to welcome ourselves.

As much as your skin longs for my hand, my hand longs for your skin.
