THE POSSIBILITY and SHOULD of LOVE and PLEASURE

Share

Two words that have amazing impact on our pleasure, our relationships and our love.

Possibility and Should.

I talk a lot about Possibility, and recently 2 people who have been on healing and growth journeys have embodied this.

One, an artist, created a Mandala of Possibility, which is the image I’ve used for this piece. The other had a tattoo on his chest, about the limitless possibility of every moment.

Should is the limitation, the contraction.

Should is the pattern.

Should generally comes from the past.

Should is fitting in.

Should has what we think is safe.

And should may not be authentically who we are.

Should is the way we think a relationship should be, the way love is, the pleasure expressions we allow.

A woman should be this and act like this, a man should do this.

A wife or a husband does this, and does not do that.

A mother and father behave like this.

Should is a prescription.

Possibility is freedom.

Possibility is creative.

Possibility is curiosity.

Possibility is the exploration of love, pleasure and relationships.

Possibility is in the world of mystery.

There is adventure in possibility, discovery, exploration.

Maybe I don’t know how a relationship should look, but I’d like to see what it could look like, how it could be.

I don’t know how much pleasure I could have, how much sensation I could feel, how deep and high my orgasms can be, I’d like to explore that.

Possibility is a continuous exploration of myself, of you, of love, of life, of our minds, our bodies, our hearts and our spirits.

Possibility is asking the questions.

And understanding that there is no ‘the answer’. There are answers, there are pieces of a puzzle, there is life which reveals itself to us, layer by fascinating layer.

Possibility in pleasure terms takes us beyond the labels. I might not be just this or that. And maybe this can give pleasure with him or her or them. And maybe that’s all it is.

Possibility takes us out of judgement.

Because maybe there is a way for us to be different and accepting. And I can only see this when I let go of what I think this life, this world, my relationships should be.

And maybe I could be happy if I looked deep inside myself, to a place beyond the expectations of others, of the media – driven world of illusion, beyond the social systems we’ve given so much credence to.

And I could have a relationship of intimacy, sharing, love, exploration and growth that is deeply fulfilling and lasting. I have to stop thinking I know what this is, and allow it to grow into that.

Possibility is within us, all of us.

We don’t have to think we know how, we have to feel we know how.

I learnt something a while ago, all healing is about connection.

Possibility is making the connections, with ourselves, with another, with others, with life itself.

So, for today, what is possible?
