This coming weekend is The Love (Sex) Expo in Pretoria.
And, BTW, there are some special offers on my online courses, message me for details.
Besides the talks I’m giving, I’m presenting The Theatre of the Erotic, which are live experiences of Sensual Bondage Massage, Yoni and Lingam Massages.
There are things that I see every year at this event, which I always find interesting.
What we share in the Theatre is challenging for some, confusing for some, arousing for some, curious for some, opening for some, triggering for some.
The same thing with some of the video previews of the online courses, which we show at the stand.
When we started doing this, in a conservative country like South Africa, in a public space, it was quite revolutionary.
In the same way that we did a live Expanded Orgasm experience on my radio show.
In a world that presents sex in such an unrealistic and warped way, the opportunity to witness something authentic, intimate and real is rare.
There’s a big difference, a very big difference between us talking about something, and actually being in a space where we can witness it.
And witness the impact it has on us.
Very few of us have seen real, authentic, high-level sexual energy experiences. Our models are porn and Hollywood, acted scripted. For effect, for reaction.
The acting we see is so far from what really happens in our bodies, what real intimacy and passion is, how energy moves etc.
And when we see something that’s real we don’t know what to do with it.
It triggers us, because it touches such a deep longing, such a deep knowing inside of us.
This is the knowing of the beauty, the power, the fire within us.
This is the knowing of the truth of what our sexual energy is.
And even if it’s just about the pleasure, when we see an authentic high-level experience, we don’t have a place to put it.
Other than the longing, the desire, to feel that.
It triggers us because we know, so sadly, that many of our partners are not going to do what’s going to make those experiences possible.
The healing, the learning, the growing, the practice.
So we close it down, to protect them, to make it ok for them.
We dismiss it, reject it, belittle it.
We shut the hunger away, we push it down, repress it, suppress it.
We judge it, and judge ourselves for that longing.
The other thing that comes up is how difficult it is for many of us to look at some of the videos, especially the Yoni Massage videos.
Which is about the relationship we have with our own bodies, with our own genitals, and the extension of that is our own sexuality.
There’s such a disconnect for many of us, such judgement, about our bodies, about our pleasure.
Part of being there, at the Expo, part of showing what we do is to open the doors of possibility.
To share what’s real, authentic.
Unscripted, unprepared.
In the moment.
And when people have been doing this work for a while, when their bodies are open, when energy flows, when the fire burns, it’s big.
And we look at it with disbelief.
To know what’s within us, to taste that, touch that, feel that, is to awaken the longing within us to free that.
To allow it into life, into the world.
And to free that is to free ourselves.
Which again challenges us, as it’s about taking us out of conditioning, patterning, beliefs. Taking us beyond inhibitions, fears.
We talk a lot, I do, about the invitation.
That’s what this space is, that’s what these experiences are.
An invitation.
When we see pleasure, authentic pleasure, as challenging as it is, we’re being invited.
Into ourselves, into our bodies, into our hearts, into our minds.
Into what we believe about pleasure, about sex.
In a world that makes sex, sensuality, eroticism, dirty and shameful, that hides and controls it, that makes it a cause of so many issues, problems, judgements.
Every opportunity to show something authentic, beautiful, intimate, powerful, is important.
Every opportunity is an invitation for us to open to that within us, which at its deepest level, is sacred.
Come and share with us, I invite you…
