WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?

Share

There are conversations and discussions, posts, that rarely come up in these forums.

One of them has come up for me personally at the moment, taking me to some very deep places within myself, personally and professionally.

A few weeks ago my sister was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

Last week I came across a podcast, and a series that came from it, Dying for Sex. It’s about a woman who has terminal cancer and experiences a sexual awakening.

For me, this journey of Conscious Sexuality has always been about including everyone.

Consciousness is about everyone, everything.

Conscious Sexuality is the pleasure expression of everyone of us.

Sacred Sexuality is the expression of all of us, in life, wherever we are.

We’re no less sacred at any moment in life than at any other moment.

A while ago on a massage workshop I facilitated, something amazing happened. 2 very special men came that day. One was blind, one had had a leg amputated years ago. It was a day that touched me deeply, as it did everyone who was there.

The emotion was high, deep, so much happened for all of us.

‘Nobody has ever touched my stump before with such love,’

He worked with someone he met that morning, and that day was an experience of Divine Sensuality.

There are so many conversations, so many perspectives in this.

The one I’d like to share with you here is this.

What are you, what are we waiting for?

Many of us wait for a crisis of some sort to change something. I don’t know why, maybe it’s in our nature. In over 25 yrs of this work it’s something I’ve seen so much. One thing these past weeks have shown me is how little I really know, and why we wait for crisis, who knows.

What are we waiting for?

To live our lives, lives of magnificence.

Not just perpetuating systems.

Not living in ways that someone said we should.

Not living in ways that make us, our lives, jobs, relationships, sexuality, eroticism, acceptable to someone else.

Lives that express our hearts, our souls.

Lives that express the deepest yearning within us.

Lives of beauty.

What are we waiting for?

This journey, this life walk, at times seems interminable. Especially when it’s hard. It seems like forever.

And yet it’s a few short breaths, a moment.

What are we waiting for?

To live.

I wrote a piece once where I said that we experience about 30% of the pleasure we’re capable of.

It was an arbitrary no, and over time I’ve seen, whether it’s 30, 50, we don’t come closer to the pleasure we have within us.

So much of my work with you is about showing you how much more is inside of you, of us.

Maybe our lives are the same.

We don’t come close, so many of us, to what’s within us.

The love, the tenderness, the intimacy, the sensuality, the sacredness.

What are we waiting for?

And what would happen if we didn’t wait for a crisis?

What would happen if we took one small step today that opens a door to a room that has a little more pleasure inside of it?

What would happen if we allowed ourselves to feel a little more intensely today, without hiding, numbing, pretending, suppressing?

What would happen if we lived a little more, today, from our hearts?

What would happen if we allowed a little more lightness, ease, grace?

What would happen if we allowed a little more pleasure?

I talk a lot, write a lot, teach a lot about, share a lot, about pleasure.

Pleasure as a sacred path.

Pleasure as a path of awareness.

Pleasure as a path of consciousness.

Pleasure as a path of life that allows the fullness of who we are.

Even in the tears, in the sadness.

Pleasure that’s the sacred pulsation of life, present in every moment, every experience.

This time, this experience, opens me, fills me with the desire to share even more.

To go even deeper.

For us to explore, to experience, to live, in a world of greater possibility.

In bodies of greater possibility.

In hearts of greater possibility.

In the limitless world of sacred pleasure, sacred life.
