WHAT ARE YOU BRINGING, TO LOVE, TO PLEASURE, TO LIFE?

Share

There’s a question I’ve been asking on workshops for a while now.
We begin the events with everyone introducing themselves, sharing a little of why they’re there, what they’re there for etc.
Then comes this question, What are you bringing?
Over time I’ve come to see the expansiveness of this, and how it moves into so many aspects of life.

In the workshop space it keeps us connected, keeps us present.
Our minds wander, we get distracted, we get challenged, we get bored, so many things take us away from presence.
What we’re bringing helps bring us back.
If I’m bringing openness, am I open at this moment?
Curiosity, love, presence, sensuality, fun…
Whatever it may be.

When we expand this into life, into different aspects of life, it becomes a fascinating question and exploration.
In pleasure, in life, in love, in relationship, What am I bringing?
For so many of us it’s about what we want, what we’re looking for.
And of course it should be.
And in the same breath, What am I bringing to pleasure, to life, to love, to our relationship.

It becomes a powerful way to check what’s between what we’re saying and what we’re doing.
If my intention is to bring listening, am I?
If my intention is to create understanding, am I?
If I’m bringing safety, am I?

There’s so much around in the new-age, conscious, spiritual worlds about creating, manifesting.
It’s become an industry, a huge industry, that’s really based on ‘I want.’
And there’s no reason, we’ll of course there are, why we shouldn’t want, have, get.
In our drive to manifest, what are we bringing?

In love and pleasure, and of course, life, the realms I work so much in, What are we bringing?
What are we bringing to bed tonight?
What am I bringing to this kiss?
Am I just bringing a want, a need?
What am I bringing that opens the space, that allows us to be met, seen, heard?

It opens deep and important conversations, in this as in all realms.
I’m bringing my desire to pleasure you.
How would you like to be pleasured today?
To be loved?
I’m bringing my exploration, can I remember that when I fall into a pattern?

It becomes a powerful way, if we’re honest and open, to explore ourselves, to see where we are, to see all of it, all of what we’re bringing.
It’s a great way of ownership, with courage, of what we’re bringing, in any moment.
And bringing us back to our intention.

To take a moment at the beginning of the day, What am I bringing to life?
To take a moment before a conversation, before a kiss…
